About

Psychotherapy based on the Comprehensive Resource Model CRM is offered by Dr. Werner Kierski. Werner is a highly specialised counsellor and psychotherapist with over 21 years of clinical experience. He is a senior accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), he is on the accredited register of the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) as well as a member of Britain’s leading association for cognitive behaviour therapy and is certified in schema therapy. He is one of but a few CRM therapists in the UK.

Werner has worked in several highly specialist clinics. He is a member of the therapy team at Schoen Clinic Chelsea, which is a leading mental health day-care clinic, where he offers individual and group psychotherapy. Prior to that he has, for eleven years, been a senior member of the therapy team at the Nightingale Hospital. Before this he worked for several other organisations, including the Medical Foundation, now called Freedom from Torture, which is a specialist service supporting people who have survived torture. He has worked in residential addiction treatment, with survivors of childhood abuse and in other service settings. Like all therapists, who want to offer highest service levels, he is in regular supervision with a supervisor who has many years of experience.

In addition to his clinical work Werner has held a number of teaching posts at several leading institutions, including Anglia Ruskin University, the Open University, New School for Psychotherapy and Counselling (NSPC), which is the global leader for training in Existential Therapy and the Minster Centre for Integrative Psychotherapy. He is currently offering academic supervision to doctoral students. Apart from that he has also held the post of editor-in-chief with Contemporary Psychotherapy, a leading international online journal for psychotherapy.

Outside of his activities as a psychotherapist and counsellor he has spent six years working with wolves. This deeply moving work has helped him to understand much better how questions of anxiety, survival, communication with others and resilience are interconnected. He continues to learn about the complex and sophisticated emotional processes that these animals experience.

Medication, Day-Care & Hospital Treatment

Although psychological therapies do not rely on medication, Werner can refer you to a trusted consultant psychiatrist to discuss any medication needs. Additionally, should you feel that you need more intense daily therapeutic support, for example, when you are experiencing a severe crisis, then he can refer you to a private mental health hospital for day care or in-patient support.
